You've had some financial trouble, the kids, medical, lost your job or got a cut in pay and things have been tight. Whatever the reason and you are late. What do you do?
First, Talk to them and don't make promises you know you won't be able to keep. Letting them know when you know (hopefully a week before its due)you can't puy in full and giving them what you have with a promise to pay will show you respect your landlord.
This approach is provided there are no disputes on your part that legally you are allowed to withhold rent(we'll get to this later).
